The hosts of this B&B are incredibly knowledgeable about the area, and are extremely helpful in planning a day's jaunt in County Kerry. We especially appreciated all the tips for traveling the roads intimidating for US drivers!, and the recommendations for pubs and restaurants. The breakfasts are amazing - fabulous traditional Irish breakfast, and the scrambled eggs with smoked salmon are to die for. The setting is also amazingly gorgeous, with incredible views out the back of the building over the bay, with mountains in the distance. Lots of fun to photograph! The B&B is beautiful from the outside, just a bit shopworn when you get inside. The carpet on the stairs is a bit worn, there are cobwebs here and there, and some of the fixtures are a bit tottery. Not a deal-breaker by any means, as everything was quite functional. My one quibble is the fact that there was no advance notification that they only accept cash payment. We do not carry cash with us when we travel, and our credit cards do not have a cash-withdrawal option, so it was an unwelcome surprise to discover that we had to come up with several hundred Euros in cash for our stay. It was a bit of a scramble to figure out a solution, and if only the B&B had alerted us ahead of time that they did not accept credit cards, we'd have been better prepared. With that one exception, we were very pleased with our stay at Abbey Court, and would definitely stay there again bringing enough cash to pay for our stay.

Very nice! The Top!

Good, friendly and helpful
